Natalia Guerrera, Director of Social Media and Content

I’m from Green Valley, California, and I’m currently a junior at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln pursuing a degree in Sports Media and Advertising and Public Relations. Working in the world of sports has always been a dream of mine. I’ve been involved in athletics for as long as I can remember, and over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much from my classes and professors while pursuing that passion. I’m thrilled to be part of the Pioneers organization and to gain hands-on experience working with this baseball team.

I grew up in a household where every football, basketball, and baseball game was on, and that constant exposure helped me develop a deep love for sports at a young age. I played every sport I could growing up which also fueled my love of sports. My ultimate dream is to become a sideline reporter and inspire young girls the same way the women I watched on the sidelines inspired me.

I’m from Palestine, Texas, and currently a junior at Kansas State University, double majoring in Marketing and Human Resource Management with a certificate in Business of Sports and Entertainment. I’m so excited to work for the Pioneers this summer and have the opportunity to do something I love every day. I’ve played sports my whole life and have always dreamed of working in the sports industry.

At Kansas State, I work with K-State Athletics on the Promotions Crew, where I help create fun and engaging experiences for fans. Through my internship with the Western Nebraska Pioneers, I’m excited to continue growing my skills in marketing and game-day entertainment. My ultimate dream is to work for the Atlanta Braves and continue building a career that combines my passion for sports, people, and creativity.

Voice of the Outlaws

Bob Parsons is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, double majoring in Sport Management (BS) and Journalism (BA). Originally from Seattle, Washington, Bob spent his entire childhood in the city before leaving for college. He grew up playing baseball year-round and played all four years at Ballard High School, where the sport helped shape his work ethic, leadership skills, and teamwork skills.

Through his academic path, Bob is building a strong foundation of knowledge of the sports business and pairing that with his communication skills. He brings his time as an athlete into all walks of life, and the skills he learned from that. He will bring his never ending passion for baseball and upbeat personality into the booth.

Samantha Popp, Director of Stadium Operations

I am from Lansing, Illinois and am currently a sophomore at Lewis University planning to get a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management and minors in International Business and Digital Marketing. I am so excited to be given this opportunity to work with the Pioneers to help me achieve my goal in the future to work for Major League Baseball.

At my school, I work with the game staff helping with different activities such as scorekeeping, music, and selling tickets. Growing up, I didn’t for sure know I wanted to work in sports until I was about 16 years old. I played softball my whole life and finally knew that is what I wanted to do with my future. Since I play softball, I knew baseball was the world I wanted to go into. I love other sports such as soccer, pickleball, bags, etc. but baseball was what called to me. Now it is my dream to work for the MLB and have fans come to the game and be able to enjoy their experience.

I am from Temecula, California and am currently a junior at the University of San Diego pursuing a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish. It is my dream to work in sports, and for the last couple years I have been working in communications in my university’s athletics department. To have the opportunity to work for the Pioneers is very exciting being a diehard baseball fan as working in anything related with baseball is exactly what I want to do for my career.

Something on my bucket list is to keep score at one game from every major league stadium. I played baseball and soccer competitively growing up. Music is another one of my passions as I have also been learning the guitar.

Nitasha Spearman, Athletic Training Intern

I am from North Carolina and currently a senior at North Carolina Central University, majoring in kinesiology. I’ve always had a passion for sports, and that interest has guided my academic and career goals. Throughout my time at NCCU, I’ve focused on building a strong foundation in human performance, injury prevention, and athlete care—skills that I’m excited to bring to the Western Nebraska Pioneers.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the Pioneers this season and to gain hands-on experience in a professional sports environment. My dream is to become an athletic trainer, and this internship is an important step toward that future. In my free time, I enjoy taking photos, listening to music, and reading—things that help me recharge and stay creative. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and contributing to the team throughout my time in Nebraska.
